About Zeke's

Zeke's is constructed, owned and operated by Stonebrook Community Church, but we didn't build it for our use alone.  We built it for you... the Iowa State University campus and community of Ames.

The building, now known as Zeke's, has a unique history.  It was originally constructed in 1949 as a full service fuel and repair station.  Zeke's now sits where the car bays were and our south windows reflect there former use.  After the service station closed, the building was used for many purposes ranging from a keg shop to a car stereo place.  It then sat empty for a few years when we stumbled across it.

We would have ignored it like everyone else was had it not been for the fact that our campus ministry, The Rock, had spent the last 5 years looking for a place to practice our own unique style of ministry without the limitations of a university class room.  So, after 2 ½ years of fundraising and construction spearheaded by college students and recent grads, we have the sweetest, loudest music venue and community center in Ames!

The Friday Night Rock

The Friday Night Rock

The Rock is a campus organization associated with Stonebrook Church that focuses on college students and twenty-somethings. We seek to show this generation the meaning of Jesus Christ's message through small group support, teaching, worship opportunities, and service to our community. The Rock meets nearly every Friday night at Zeke's to celebrate what Jesus has done for us and to learn what it looks like to live in light of that.
